What can I upgrade with the grant?

• Central heating system for heat pump

• Heat pump air to air

• Heating controls

• Solar hot water

• Attic insulation

• Cavity wall insulation

• Internal insulation (dry lining)

• External wall insulation (the wrap)

• Windows (complete upgrade)

• External doors

• Floor insulation

• Solar panels

• Mechanical ventilation

• Air tightness

3 types of grants:

1. Upgrade one area at a time (like insulation or heating)

2. Full or multiple areas upgrade

3. Your home was built before 2006

Some key requirements to qualify for the grant:

• Is your home is owner‑occupied?

• How old is the house; needs to have been built before 2011

• Your homes BER rating is currently B3 or lower.

How much is the grant?

The grant amount varies depending on whether you own an apartment, semi-d, detached home.

Some examples for a semi-d:

• €6500 is available towards a heat pump system

• €1500 for attic insulation

• €6000 for external wrap insulation

When the energy upgrades are completed, your home must achieve a minimum BER rating of B2.

Tip: the grant needs to be approved before starting any work.
